Meet the Queen Bee

Betsy Tull
as told by her husband, Gary Tull.....aka Worker Bee

Betsy showed an interest in beading at a young age.  She would string beads making bracelets, necklaces and earrings for her friends.  She went on with life, but never lost her interest in beads, making pieces from time to time.
In 2000 her childhood hobby became a passion.  She started self-teaching through books and practice.  It was then that her collection of beads began to grow and grow!
During periods of great personal crisis, such as the death of her Dad (2004), followed closely by her Mom (2005), Betsy found comfort in creating beautiful pieces of beaded jewelry.  It became a type of therapy for her.  She hopes that those who have never beaded will realize how fun and peaceful it can be and also that anyone can do it.  In early 2006 she began honing her skills by taking various classes in the Atlanta area, which included beadweaving and chainmaille.
One of Betsy’s great loves is her sister (Mary), her nieces (Sarah and Megan) and her nephew (Jacob).  The kids love coming to “Aunt Betsy’s” and the girls love making new jewelry each visit.  Betsy also loves making pieces for them, her sister and her friends…just because.
Another of Betsy’s passions is her animals.  These are her children and no one dare come between her and them.   Currently we have a Yorkie (Skye) and 2 Ginger cats (Baxter and Dudley).  We also have birds, bears, raccoons, opossums, turkey, deer and other wildlife on our mountain.  Betsy loves them all (with the exception of the bears).  They’re a bit daunting staring in the bedroom window at 4:00am.
Now, with her practiced expertise, she is ready to offer her jewelry, as well as classes on beadweaving, beaded jewelry and chainmaille.  We offer a wide selection of  seed beads, loose beads, tools and miscellaneous supplies in our shop in Hiawassee.
Life with Betsy is hilarious on a daily basis and humor is one of her most prominent personality traits.  She hopes that laughter and warmth will resonate within our shop.  We invite people to come in, share a funny story, sit and browse through magazines or (obviously) bead.
